How to Play Music Trivia
Get started with Music Trivia - play on its own or combine with Music Bingo
-
1. Prepare the Game Materials
• Print enough player cards for each participant or team. These cards include spaces for their name or team name, the round name, and their answers for each question.
• Print one answer card to use for marking and scoring the player cards at the end of the game.
-
2. Set the Stage
• Announce the round you are playing to your participants. For example: "Welcome to 80’s Music Trivia – Round 1!"
• Instruct players to write the round name, along with their name or team name, in the spaces provided at the top of their player cards.
• If you're hosting a larger group or aiming for a more interactive experience, consider using a TV or projector. Connect your device via HDMI to display the questions and answers on a larger screen.
-
3. Ask the Question
• Start by stating the question number (e.g., “Question 1”) and then read out the question followed by the multiple-choice options.
• Repeat the question if necessary, especially if you’re hosting a large group or if some players might need more time to hear or understand it.
• You will see that the answers to each question are hidden on the screen, and will be revealed only when needed to verify your players' answer choices.
-
4. Play the Music
• After asking each question, play the corresponding song related to the question.
• Give players ample time to listen to the song and write down their answers on their cards.
• Feel free to announce a countdown for the remaining time to keep the game moving at a steady pace.
-
5. Repeat for All Questions
• Continue this process for all 15 questions, ensuring players have enough time to hear each song and record their answers.
-
6. Score the Game
• Once all questions are complete, collect the player cards for marking. Use the answer card to check responses and tally scores to determine the winner.
• Alternatively, you can reveal the correct answers after each question or at the end of the game. Players can then mark their own cards if you prefer a more interactive approach.
• Announce and celebrate the winning player or team!
